Notable: The Yankees bring the publication of the “Sketch Book” in-house and rename it “Yankees Yearbook”, the title which still remains intact today. Jersey numbers were added to each player’s bio page.

Notable: First year Jay Publishing published yearbooks for all 16 Major League teams including the Yankees. There is a “Not Official” note printed on the first page of every yearbook.

1956 Yankees Yearbook ~ 1st edition
Notable: Page eight honors Yogi Berra who won his third MVP in 1955. Last season for Phil (Scooter) Rizzuto.

1956 Yankees Yearbook ~ 2nd edition
Notable: Page 38 honors Yankees in the World Series, not in first edition. One-page “Farewell” to Ruth and DiMaggio.

Notable: Celebrates Casey Stengel’s 10th anniversary as manager.

Notable: “Yankee Yearbook” printed on cover instead of “Yankees Yearbook”. They used “Yankee” through ‘64, returning to “Yankees Yearbook” in ‘65.
